At a glance
Multiply a chosen confirmed-page scope by your low and high USD rate assumptions, then apply an optional contingency. The defaults are illustrative, not measured market rates. The result is a planning scenario, not a quotation, and unknown pages or unreviewed complex work remain outside the calculation.
200 pages, $4–$12 per page and 10% contingency give $880–$2,640.
| Step | Low scenario | High scenario |
|---|---|---|
| Pages × rate | 200 × $4 = $800 | 200 × $12 = $2,400 |
| Contingency | $800 × 10% = $80 | $2,400 × 10% = $240 |
| Planning total | $880 | $2,640 |

Enter a scope you can defend
Use confirmed unique pages if one identical source will be handled once. Exclude unknown counts without treating them as zero, and keep them in a separate scope note. First decide which current documents actually require work.
This tool does not inspect PDFs, decide legal applicability or identify defects. A collection’s full page count may include sources that are obsolete, already suitable or better corrected in the authoring workflow. Page-based arithmetic starts after that decision.
- Use a rate from your supplier or your own scenario.
- Keep source review, fixed fees and complex tasks visible.
- Treat a zero-page scenario as zero selected scope, not proof that no work exists.
The formula is intentionally simple
Low total = pages × low rate × (1 + contingency / 100). High total uses the high rate in the same formula. The interface shows base amounts and contingency separately, with USD values rounded for display.
A contingency percentage changes the scenario; it does not discover or price missing pages. If a project includes setup fees, translation, source reconstruction, forms or repeated publication work, include them in a separate scoped estimate.
Use the scenario to prepare a better request
Send a supplier a representative authorized source set, required output formats and acceptance scope. Ask what is included in the rate and which documents need separate examination. Keep the actual quotation distinct from this public calculation.
Save the page basis, rate evidence date and unresolved inventory coverage with your scenario. Revisit the estimate when sources or requirements change. This tool sends no PDF or calculation request to a document-processing service.
- Confirm scope and duplicate rule.
- Replace illustrative rates with relevant assumptions.
- Inspect the base and contingency amounts.
- Obtain a scoped quotation before committing funds.
