Google Drive integration

Bring selected Drive documents into review.

Choose PDF and DOCX files with Google Picker, confirm who can access the workspace copy, and move into your document accessibility workflow. Connecting your account alone does not import files.

Understand the connection before you authorize it

Google uses a selected-file permission (drive.file). You choose the files to make available through Google Picker; the connector does not request unrestricted access to every file in your Drive.

Availability depends on your installation's provider configuration and account consent. A cloud import prepares a source for accessibility work; it does not establish accessibility conformance.

Select existing PDFs and Word documents

Use the picker to choose up to 20 supported files at a time. Review the file name, type, size, source revision, and available download information before importing. A connection can track up to 100 sources.

The connector accepts PDF and DOCX files. Export native Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides to a supported file before selecting it. Shortcuts and other native Google file types are not imported directly.

Confirm the audience for the copy

Your Drive sharing settings stay as they are. The imported document follows the access rules of the DocAccessible workspace, so you must confirm that you are authorized to share the source with that audience on every import.

The connection and tracked source metadata are available only to the connecting user in the same workspace. You need editor access or higher to import. Imported documents start private and follow the normal malware scan, file-size, and plan-usage checks.

Review a source change before importing again

Run a source check when you want to see whether a tracked file has changed or become unavailable. Checks happen on request; this is not continuous background synchronization.

Importing a changed revision creates another private document for review. It preserves earlier copies and leaves any published version untouched. If the source changes during download, the import stops so you can review the new revision first.

From source selection to reviewed output

  1. Connect your Google account

Open Cloud storage in workspace settings and authorize Google Drive when the connection is available on your installation.

  2. Choose and confirm sources

Use Google Picker, review the selection, and confirm the workspace audience before importing.

  3. Review and publish deliberately

Follow processing, inspect the findings and reading order, and publish the reviewed output only when ready.

Choose the next step using the remediation workflow guide. Use the plan-fit calculator for expected document volume and workspace needs, then inspect the public benchmark evidence for representative output and limitations.

Common questions

Does the connector change my Google Drive files?

No. It reads selected metadata and downloads a copy. It does not edit the source, change Drive permissions, or write remediated output back to Drive.

What happens if Drive access is removed?

Future imports require source access. Losing that access does not revoke an existing workspace copy or a document you have explicitly published. Manage those copies through DocAccessible's document controls.

Can I disconnect after an import?

Yes. Disconnecting removes locally stored credentials and tracking. Imported documents remain in the workspace. To remove the provider's consent grant as well, use your Google account's application-access settings.

Why might the Google connection be unavailable?

The installation must have a configured Google OAuth application, Drive and Picker APIs, approved origins and callbacks, and the required encryption settings. Consent configuration can also limit which accounts may connect. Ask your administrator if the connection is unavailable.
